Loved Penn Avenue Fish Company. The prices for an individual oyster was a little steep ($6/each), but otherwise I had no complaints. It is a BYOB restaurant which helps keep the costs down - although their website indicates they are going to be getting a liquor license. We shared two sushi rolls - Sexy Seniorita and Pretty Girl Roll. They were both very good but the Pretty Girl seemed to be the favorite at the table. I would highly recommend the Edamame here, although you will need your drink handy as they are pretty spicy. I had the grilled shrimp entree which had charred tomatoes, roasted peppers/onions, bacon and grilled plantains. It was very good and the portion size was perfect.

ReplyDeleteThis was a really good Grub Club pick as the food combos were interesting. Splitting 2 sushi rolls and the edamame gave our group plenty for appetizers. I had the lobster risotto which was loaded with lobster. It was excellent. We also split 3 desserts-a vanilla cheesecake, cherry cobbler (my fav) and a chocolate terrine. The service was friendly but not intrusive. The entrée prices are steep for Pittsburgh as everything is a la carte but you are paying for the freshness of the seafood. Liked the BYOB option so I am sorry to hear that is going away.
