Went to Legume's new location in Oakland. The food was excellent. THe beet salad with citrus was excellent and the mushroom soup was a hit. Two in our group tried the sweet potato ravioli and really liked them. Also hits were the skirt steak w/ risotto and the lamb shoulder. Loved the chocolate tort. Two misses--the white wine wasn't chilled after it was opened and the pecan ball dessert was weak. If you are going to go with an old school dessert like this embrace the history. Go all out on the chocolate sauce and add whipped cream.

ReplyDeleteFYI this location for Legume is closing on May 15th and will reopen in Oakland later this summer. I may try to make a return visit before it closes
