E2 on Urbanspoon

  1. E2 was a nice little Italian restaurant. The dining area was very small so I would recommend reservations for sure! The waiter was very attentive and the service was great. I like the idea of 'build your own' appetizer where you can choose different vegetables, meats or cheese and they are served with bread. My favorite was the gorgonzola spread - delicious! I had the spinach tortellini with chive butter, pine nuts and chicken. I would definitely recommend it! Oh - and the prices were very reasonable. We had a party of seven who split 5-6 items on the appetizer platter, we each had an entree and then split three desserts. Our bill came to approximately $38 a piece!

  2. E2 is a really nice spot in Highland Park. You can only get reservations with a party of 6 or more. I enjoyed the antipasto selection--the mix and match let you try several different items--my favorite was the pickled turnips (who knew a turnip was that good). I had the features risotto which was a spicy tomato with sausage and arugula. Just the right amount of bite. The dark chocolate dessert was delish! My only complaint was it was a bit warm --it was crowded and the space was tight. Great place for carb lovers--if you are looking for meat or seafood this place isn't for you.

  3. I liked the antipasta choices. My favorite was the pickled turnips, I've never had them before and they were quite tasty. I usually don't like gorgonzola, but their "gorgonzola mess" was very good. For dinner I ordered the fettuccini in spicy tomato sauce, I also added chicken to it (bottom picture). The sauce had a good amount of heat to it. I was a bit disappointed in the chicken as it was not cooked fresh, but rather reheated.
